I finally snapped!

Postby Shazza » Thu Aug 05, 2010 10:41 pm

Due to job loss :o we my husband and I, have been traveling around the west contracting (he is a computer programmer) for the past 9 months. The cute harbor freight trailer I put together has been sitting in storage since then dreaming of being a teardrop.

All summer I've been here in Colorado coveting all of y'all camping and playing in your teardrops. the fact that IRG came and went without me was excruciating, let me tell you!

One day perusing Craigslist I came upon a cute little unique teardrop for sale that was it! I just snapped! :sneakers: I had to have a teardrop in camp-able condition by our family reunion the weekend of Aug 13th. :worship:

This teardrop was in my budget... :) granted it was "slapped" together... He just wanted to use it Elk Hunting... I knew it would need extensive remodel... :hammer: The good thing was there was no water damage at all cause it had been stored in the barn since building.. I loved the galvanized roof... and the woody sides made me smile! The fact that there was only a tail gate gave me a bit of pause :o but.... I kind of liked it... The truth is I couldn't stop thinking about it for 3 weeks.. So, for my birthday (the 9th of July) we went and picked this cute little thing up.. :woohoo:

Due to a lack of shop and tools (moving around everywhere!) I found an amazing guy (again on craigslist) who took the poorly sealed and applied roof, and fixed it... who enlarged the one tiny door and built me one to match on the other side.. then he surprised me with a cute mural of flowers and hearts on the sides...

It isn't finished yet... I get to play with the Galley and have fun designing a pull out kitchen with only a tail gate not a hatch (I kind of like that). But it is camp-able!!!!

I'm so excited! I get to outfit it and play the next week and we leave on Thursday afternoon! :vroom:

Auntie Miriam... Pictures tomorrow I promise!

8) Great to here someone with the itch
You know when I had my bikes and some guys would look at it and give you the thumbs up
it was good felling cuz you built it your self ,but some would give you the finger (it to loud or you cant go between car like that) with the Teardrop everyone Loves it, and they have to look inside and cant believe we sleep in that, but always leave saying I want one
and were can I get one , I love taken her out , there you go now I have to get up and go crack a beer and open her up and work on her, always something we can do.
later good people
