Glad lengthening the tongue worked. I have had to do it on 3 of my 5 builds.

The barn build was most curious it was porposing (flexing up and down rather than side to side) . This was do to a weak extended tongue
I later added a truss under the tube to stiffen it and all was fine.

So some times ill handeling is contributed to up and down tonge flex as well as side to side.

You can see the truss under the tongue in the pic it is 1 1/2 x 1/4 flat strap and acts just like a bow string actually pushing up on the little 1 1/2 piece of square tube you see in the pic also. This point IS the front of the trailer frame ( The body is cantelivered forward 2 ')

OK guys I bought a longer tongue and It looks like I am 1/4 inch off on one side measuring from u-bolt axle mount to the tongue. That's not going to make that much difference is it? (It could just be the placement of the u bolt.) There is not much I can do because where the tongue bolts to the trailer it is welded and set in stone. It might have gotten bent a little (the original mount) because there was no corner to corner bracing on the original tongue.

One ball mount, two tires, that makes a tripod. That could not possibly make a differance in towing except for maybe a little dog track.
