I friend sent a very interesting flick about the cowboys of old westerns...

If you enjoyed westerns as a kid, or watched the old TV westerns every week like I did, please take a few minutes and watch this...watch it to the end, even after the music stops...hope it brings back some good memories for you too.. http://oldfortyfives.com/thoseoldwesterns.htm

I've been watching John Wayne all weekend. You just don't see many of the old westerns anymore. I also used to like watching war movies like Combat.

There is a "Westerns" channel (Dish TV) which includes many of the old western TV programs as well as movies. I am a Louis L'Amour fan secondarily to being a Si Fi reader and part of that is that Louis even in his very formulaic quick and dirty novels described actual places I have been. At his best you could smell the sage brush.
