Really Old Camper

Postby Anita Rae » Thu Aug 12, 2010 8:55 pm

I wonder if anyone knows what kind of camper this is? It is 14 ft long and 7 ft wide and 7 ft tall. It has aluminum exterior which was riveted. It does not have a bumber on the back and it looks like it never had one. It has small cone type lights on the side in the rear.

Ok, I need to get this caught up. I guess it really doesn't matter too much what you call this little trailer, because as of yesterday, I call it "Mine". :D

After a lot of research we thought it was a Boles Areo, but there were some things that just didn't seem to fit. Then last night, we came across a movie on You Tube about a 1946 C. D. Barger trailer and it looks like that is what we have. It looks like the the trailer underneath has been replaced and the wheel wells were cut out to make room for bigger tires...no biggie...we will fix it.

There doesn't seem to be much info on a Barger so if anyone knows anything, I would appreciate it.

Ain't she beautiful. I will post more pics later today.

It is going to be fun restoring this. Then we get to reap the rewards and take off and see the world in it. There are sooooo many parts of this country that I haven't seen.

Nice canned ham. Looks like it has Hehr standard windows. They are easy to take apart and replace the seals. Have fun with your project. Upon 2nd thought it really looks like it could be a Zollinger. It's got the same haphazard siding pattern on the sides, mine does'nt have the wheel cut outs, and really is a pain in the arse changing the tires.
