I told myself that I couldn't start on my teardrop until I spruced up my garage. I've painted the walls and started on my cabinets. I'm putting in tons of lights too.

Has anyone else gone nuts on their garage? Got any pics to share? I could definitely use some ideas.

Really nice space, Len! I like that a lot. I love the table saw/outfeed table. I have a 1972 Delta contractor saw and I need to build a base for it.

Its kind of a double duty room. If you can see in some pictures my work bench is made out of 2X12's and in another it has a Formica top.

Everything has a double duty, even the Board Room table has a cover.

Its a great entertainment Party room...I've even had wedding receptions at my property.

Oh, and sometimes I even put my Car in there.

I'd like to do something fancy with my garage, but it would not take away the absolute top priority of my garage -- a place to park my car. Priority two -- a place to park my teardrop.

I used to photograph a magazine series called "Garage Mahal," years before that TV show came out. That show mostly makes garages into places that cars don't belong anymore, but the magazine series was about cool places for cool cars.

I'd love to have a "Garage Mahal," but like Warpony, I'm still a million dollars short of being a millionaire.

My top priorities are a home for my tools and a place to work. My cars stay outside.

The reason I fell in love with teardrops is because you can keep them in your garage. Ok, that and I get to tinker.

My "makeover" is uber low budget. Nothing really cool like a lift or AC. I wish I could put AC in there. This summer has almost killed me while working out there. I'm in the middle of building my cabinets and I can only work an hour at a time. I've gone from "I'm gonna build some really nice cabinets in here" to "that's good enough for me".

Here are a couple picks of the shop I built primarily for wood working. My advice would be lots of outlets both 110 and 220 and lights with true color bulbs. These bulbs cost a little more but last a long time and definately provide a brighter more color accurate light

Don't believe Len's or Paul's shop pictures. They are not representative of real life. I think they were both created in Photoshop and I refuse to accept their actual existence!

Glad I could help! It's lookin' good! It's amazing how much nicer it was today. I didn't melt at all tonight while working on the cabinets. The mosquitoes almost drained me dry. I gave up and came inside.

What brand of epoxy did you use? It looks really nice. I'm debating between epoxy and VCT.

I used Armorpoxy http://www.armorpoxy.com it has held up well. About the only thing that affects it (so far) is brake fluid, it just stains it. The kit came with everything including a roller, squeege mixer paddle, traction stuff, flecks, etchant. My neighbor in TX used the Rustoleum garage epoxy and it was relatively thin. It would still scratch down to the concrete.

My house used to be a model so the garage floor was messed up from when they had an office in there. I rented a floor grinder to remove the carpet adhesive that was leftover and break thru the hard outer layer. I also had to patch the holes where they drove cut nails into the floor for stud walls. At least I have extra lights cause of the office.


Is that an SE-R = SR20? My cousin in FL has a built Z32, the paint looks bad but it lays down 500hp to the wheels.
