I have been off the forum for about a year and I should have read before I posted...my mistake! There used to be quite a few people who posted here regularly.

And as far as someone trying to overcome serious health issues, I would never, ever....not in a million years make fun of that. I have a son who is a paraplegic from a motorcycle accident three years ago and I am very sensitive to that kind of thing. Like I mentioned in my angry post, I have never read any of your posts so I had no idea.

I am trying to get back into exercise myself and was reconnecting to a sort of support group. I guess I kind of blew that.

Anyway, I am very sorry you took my post the way you did and I can see how you would knowing what I know now.

Well for the record I laughed my ass off and I'm still grining

Getting fatter by the minute. Now 240 up from 230 and really starting to understand how little food you need to make it through the day. Wrestled a few boxes of ice cream sandwiches and lost but my real disappointment is with my crew. Seems summer work load just pulled everyone different directions and I'm down to riding one or twice a week. Talking twins, family days, work, chores, and my ride propped next to the assembled plastic shelves in the garage just sitting there. Tyler (son) just cracks me up. Two years of age, Runs over to Bailey squats and in his baby lisp yells bye bye bike ride. That starts a chain reaction of them going nuts gathering their stuff and heading towards the garage.

Weird weather this year. While the left coast is cooking, more clouds are blocking the great heat tablet in the sky and with twenty years in California, this is the coolest I've experienced. Mornings are almost cold enough to wear my fancy bike pants.

I'll work to get back in the grove.

I guess that is what happens when you suddenly get people that have time to ride with you :applause: The most frustrating thing this summer is Doctors orders not to ride by myself  Anyway, I have decided to shut it down for a bit. I'm taking the Mountainbike camping next week and will keep the rides down to just around the campground :)

I am sorry about the Doctors order.. but glad you have people to ride with now. :D it's more fun with others anyways..

sorry.. :(

It is getting harder to bike here also. Much of it is due to decreased daylight in the evenings. Chores and projects to be done before winter.. also cuts down on some of the long weekend rides.

I am trying to shift back to other activities.. lifting running etc.

Wednesday's mountain bike ride got cancelled because of heavy rain. Soo we went for a run. I also did a little kettle bell work. [halo's and turkish getups] and after the run.. I tried my first tire flipping. [I just got some big tractor tires from my neighbor] Man.. it feels good to do that. :D

Got 18 in averaging 15.4.

Half way point, scanned horizon and the Suns angled rays showed a flickering reflection 20 miles away. On the return, cool air and evening dawn showed repeating sunsets while cresting rolling hills, my thoughts drift embracing the moment and conclude...this is why I ride.

Sunday ride on the river trail with crew....except they were late. Called and confirmed they were inbound and rolled to the Starbucks. As I dismounted five rushed the door. Brunette walked up and hovered on angle that's not quite in the Que but since we both approached at the same time, Gentleman Mike got tagged, yielded but enjoyed the view. Quick grab in go turned into six ahead and I made the bet Ms. Brunette would order a Frappe, thus testing my patience to acquire value added coffee. Sure enough something caramel plus mocha and the wait began to crush the brain. Minimized the spacetime curve and ordered a medium coffee and a marble bread/cake (for the turnaround snack). Minimum wage corrected the order and informed me their large was a Grande. Fine, call it what you will, its my Lincoln was the thought but passed on exhibiting the cranky customer profile.

Got back to the start point. Crews car was present but the lot was empty. Hit the record button and rolled east. Two Peacocks sporting Ti passed at speed and I closed the gap. 8K dollars of metal porn, shaved legs and cologne punched a hole through the atmosphere the size of a barn door and the advantage was mine. A few casual looks back but no fuss relayed it was ok, four miles later closed on two crew mates. We rolled on avoiding a deer but a suicide squirrel made a head on pass at my wheel, bounced off into my crew, where it gave its all for his cause.

The return trip was uneventful and finished with 28.5 miles showing a 17 average. Not bad considering only 18 earlier in the week at 15.4

30 on the trail. Average 16.5 with a bit of wind. Usual crew plus two. Steve & his wife and a helicopter.

Rolling the trail 5 patrol cars, three jurisdictions and a helicopter searching something when it gets interesting. Turns out a regular of the trail, far out old guy, tanned with wiry muscles usually doing one legged knee bends and tossing large rocks from one hand to the other, corralled a chap on the rivers edge. CHP at full draw aiming his bang stick at said chaps mid section while directing him to comply to his instructions. The usual look-loos asking me a million questions that I don't know. Just shrugged the shoulders and rolled on to the halfway.

Waited 13 minutes for two of the crew and headed back. Rolled out of a turn, looked right and Steve's in sprint mode. Two bikes, 3 feet of space and eased right just a little to remind him where the dirt was. The correct gear does wonders while spinning for all your worth, until Steve releases the adjective- verb word. Heart gadget reported 88% of max and lungs covering the move, it felt good to knowing the fight was over and I edged a wheel. Asked if he wanted to do that again. Steven took a pass. Tom got sneaky drafting two at 22 and cruised by, I let him roll knowing he could not hold. A mile later showed him my wheel and then it was just me, a cross wind and eye ball liberty with the ladies for the remainder.

Finished the day with 5 accounted for and lunch at a Czech restaurant drinking good beer & chowing on a slab of pork stuffed with mushrooms, cheese, surrounded by a thin layer of crispy fat. Sides of chunk potato and shingled squash & zucchini assembled by skewering with a rosemary twig....2000 calories burned on the ride promptly returned and I, being in the arena, was all the better for it.
