Hi
I know that Richard from the Buckeye group is, as he was expounding last year at Boogie in the Hills.
I have been thinking about it but other than the rabbits attacking the garden and or a couple of squirrels that nibbled on the fuel hose on the Subaru... I am still looking into it 8)

I have a 35 year old 880, but I'm guessing you're not talking about popping aluminum cans in the back yard. :)

Vindi_andy; seems to me it's a real passion over in the UK....sure wish there was more inolvement around here!! It's a bit hard to explain how much fun it is; heck, the pistol/rifle customizing is half the fun. I like the collecting a lot also.

I have an old Benjamin air rifle that I have had since I was a kid. Used to sit in my backyard and shoot birds off the telephone wires. Then when I was in college I took some air rifle PE classes that were a lot of fun. A&M had a nice air rifle range under Kyle Field. Since then I have not used it much. Right now my focus is on the larger guns...AR15, M1 Garand, M1 Carbine and M1A. More expensive but a lot more fun to shoot.

I have a little daisy pump, fun for plinking in the back yard. I have a hard time justifying taking out a larger rifle for plinking, where it costs $0.50+ every time you pull the trigger. The .22 rifle with sub sonic rounds is fun for those stray squirles that get in the yard though, and when I want to venture out of town, I can shoot all day for around $5.00 with a bulk pack of .22LR

I hunt rabbit and squirrels with my Gamo 1200. I have mostly given up on using the 22 now.

I have a Daisy 1000, a .17 cal magnum air rifle shooting at near .22 cal ballistics...it is a hoot and at upto 35 yds it will drive tacks and kill most anything small you shoot...especially cans and targets...I picked it up for 99bucks w/scope from Sportsmans Guide...they have several similar models in that price range...WARNING...these types of air rifles are not for kids or plinking in a city backyard(without adequate backstops)!!!!!!
madjack 8)

p.s. the mount for the scope was inadequate to withstand the recoil of the rifle and I spent 25bucks(???) for a specially designed set of rings for it.............MJ
p.s.s. a couple of links forya........

Thanks MadJack;
I was actually hoping a few more would chime in here; thought maybe I'd look into a gathering where we could include silhouette and field target matches for some weekend entertainment. As for my equipment, I currently have a custom built Silhouette Pistol and am looking into possibly getting a Steyr for Field Target....as you can tell; these are definately not toys; but rather precision target shooting equipment, safety is definately of the utmost concern!
