I had some acupressure done on me to help an injured arm. It hurt like no body's bussines while he did it but after a couple of weeks the arm felt better than new. One of my coworkers is currently doing acupuncture for his back and swears by it. I am one of those guys that if you think it will help you then go for it.

A friend's husband had acupuncture done to relieve arthritis pain. She said it only worked for a limited time, maybe a few months before he was back in pain again. The way I understand it, the pins are able to cause the nerve endings to move slightly so that the pressure on them is less.

When my last dog's arthritis started getting really bad, I got acupuncture treatments for him. At first, he was like a puppy after each treatment; but, as time went on it helped less. The treatments on my dog worked for about 6 months and then, the treatments stopped helping at all.

I once saw a TV documentary on how the Chinese are using it instead of anesthesia, during operations. During the documentary, they showed a woman being operated on while she was awake. Before they made the incision, they had inserted a series of large needles in specific places and verified that she did not feel pain where the cut would be made.

Based on the above, I would think that acupuncture has a limited time frame of success; but, if that's all you need it for, it might be the perfect answer.

I was recently diagnosed with MS ( a year ago ).... believe me, this sucks bad! Its painful, the side effects of the drugs are the worst and I just want some kind of relief.....I was told to see an acupuncturist to relieve these issues..I am a bit sceptical as well...so if you do have it done let me know! maybe Ill man up and do it as well!

In the health biz and believe in naturally assisting the body to optimum health. I'll add my vote of confidence for acupuncture onto the 5000 years it's been used. Some new archeological accounts now show it being used even further back.

if done properly by someone who is trained and experienced - then what harm could it do - it may make things better.

NUNGUN-SISTER,

I am sorry to hear that you have MS. My daughter was diagnosed with MS at age 35, she is now 43. She has tried pretty much everything and then some. I do wish you the best.

As for acupuncture, I did it for about 3 months to help with my blood pressure. I can not say that it helped. But, someone said that it hurt...it did not hurt me, but once, and the doctor removed that pin and moved it over a bit and it did not hurt again.

Well, that's my two cents.

i will admit the idea of some medicinal herbs has come into my cranium. i even brought it up to the dr. he didn't think it was funny. besides how do i set the example for the kids and the most important question do they deliver.

Acupuncture

Postby queeniejeanne » Thu Sep 09, 2010 10:31 am

I can say I am a poster child for great acupuncture results. My knee twisted when I fell from my trailer tongue, one foot on ground, one foot still on tongue of trailer, but still holding the canoe!. needless to say, medical wanted surgery, torn meniscus he said and I said no.....hurt/pain/hurt etc etc
Anyway I have several friends of mine that are Drs of Chiropractic and acupuncture, having never had a reason to try the acupuncture I didn't know how well it would work on something like this....unable to walk correctly and knowing I was putting more work on my back, but not having money for surgery and hearing/seeing the nightmares of these surgeries not working for very long until you get a whole knee replacement.....so I tried the acupuncture........yes it worked the first month.....I only go now If it flares up after a very long, rocky hike. then it's fixed again...it's been good for two years now.......Go for it. HEY a tiny trailer. Whatever it takes.
