Well here is our New and Final Profile of the Tear In Progress - More suitable for the shape of our car... :pictures:

Both the Mrs. and I with the help of our son agreed :shake hands:

on this during the Christmas Holidays for our
1st build.. The walls will be cut in the next week or so..We are very glad now to be 100% percent sure of the shape..And with no regrets after cutting.. Wheeeeeew. :thumbsup:

Thanks also goes out to Mr. Norm Perkiss for inspiring us to this profile.

how big/small radius is down front ?
frame will be under side or between sides ?

The walls will be installed down to the bottom edge and a small addition more to enable the angle moulding to be installed under as well..

Thanks to Cary for sending me a sample of the angle moulding that
Camp Inn uses.. now knowing what it looks like in reality - with it I have found "Almost" similar moulding ..costly as can be but nice...

Also now that Santa gave us a US Tape Measure we can go measure and everyone will be able to understand the measurements :whistle:

The profile looks nice... but I'm still waiting to see a fender on that profile...

That Hatch for the Galley should have been drawn down more... :lol:

We,ll be adding another 12 inches onto it... but it may have to be done so in the back.... :thinking:

I dont quite know if Im going to have a problem
doing it in the front instead...Here is the front of the frame and tow bar just to show you how it sits...

Maybe the pro,s can tell me .... Do I have to weld another cross bar more or just take it into cosideration when doing the floor...

The length in inches is - 86"
The width in inches is - 58"

With the tow bar its a total of 12 Feet.. Longer than normal tow bar..

Yes indeed we,ll build the modernistic or Finn Cub version next.. that
will be for our oldies trucks... :twisted:

This was the most difficult part to do - to make "Sure" of ourselves..
and not hesitate in cutting the profile... Now we feel confident...
I guess patience has somthing to it as well...

Mike I have the profile on my living room wall... Im looking at the area where the fender will go right now.. :thinking:

We will go with the Kit Style Fender - Which is the 11" in width...

The axle is 32" inches from the back frame to the middle of the axle..
Mike I just measured the axle width from the face plate or hub plate to hub plate and its 70 1/4 inches ......

RW Johnsons Kit fender is 41 3/8 inches in length and 20 inches in height.
I think as far as what I can see Grants are the same..I have a small brochure from RW Johnson with the measurements on a page..

Mike will I be ok with this ? :thinking:

Lookin pretty good, nice profile and I like the frame. You've got plenty of X-members in it, if you need any more just use a 2x2. You'd be suprised how much support you don't need under your floor, keep in mind you aren't walking on it and even on 2' centers that's only a 2'x5' area of plywood so if you use 1/2" or 3/4" ply on the floor it will be fine. I used 3/4" on mine and the next one will definitely be 1/2". In my opinion the 3/4" is just extra weight.

Just curious, does that jack pivot somehow? Or is it supposed to pivot and just doesn't now. Or the other option is am I just not seeing how it pivots?

Nitetimes - Thanks! The jack does not pivot - The wheel is raised or lowered just by cranking the handle.. Just an up down motion..

The wheel does crank fairly high too ....

I think the frame is very sturdy with 1/2 inch flooring sufficient...Thats true...

Just wasn't sure when I saw that lower handle, that wheel on there looks like it can actually be useful, unlike the ones the normally sell for that.

Nitetimes - Your talking about the Lower Lever or handle.. right?
That locks up the wheel in the position that you want it to be set..an extra
lock feature..
