A scary thing happenened on the way to the beer fridge today

Postby Larwyn » Sat Sep 11, 2010 6:41 pm

I have been down in my back for the last week, so really haven't done much of anything until today.

My back was feeling better so I decided to get some of the chores done that have been piling up while I was babying my back.

So, I pulled the battery out of the tractor and put it on the charger, ran some wire and installed a phone jack in the bed room so I could get that infernal TeleHealth machine out of the den, actually moved the TeleHealth machine , built a digital TV antenna out of a 1x4 and some coat hangars, and finally put the battery back in the tractor and putted around the yard a bit.

Really not that much work, I'm only 61 years old, but when the chores were done and I went out to the garage to grab a Guinness and sit back, for just a moment, I thought that I just might be too tired for a Guinness!!!!!!!!! I stood my ground though, conquered my fear and had my beer, but that was a frightening thought which passed through my mind at the beer fridge door.........

No...............My doctor at the VA is not a fan of Guinness, in fact she recommends that, if I am going to drink beer at all, it should be one of the light/low carb beers. Hell, Kerrville city water is better than that swill. Shiner Bock is my idea of a good "light" beer................

My beer fridge is usually stocked with both Shiner Bock and Guinness Extra Stout. I jokingly refer to them as vanilla or chocolate.....

When my sister started training to be a doctor, the hospital gave post-delivery mothers a daily Mackeson (another stout, similar to Guiness) as a good source of iron....

Thanks Andrew!

So, if I happen to draw a little blood out in the shop, Guinness might actually be as good for me as it is to me?....................I like that............

I'd check any medications you are on because they are messin with your sub-conscience. I mean too tired for a guiness is like sayin you are too tired for teardrops or TT's

O this is very bad. Since I consider Guiness as a "SESSION BEER" you should be able to drink more then one - at a time. Maybe you need to change your beer choice. But hey - I can't tell you what to drink as long as it is something you like!

So I am glad you overcame the inital reaction and trusted the BEER.

You need to go to the doctor immediately and check to see if your GSA'a (Guiness Specific Antibodies) are out of whack. Bad results can happen if this is the case, including the aforementioned reluctance to have a guiness, as well as the possible outcome of not enjoying the beverage after you drink it. Another symptom of this low GSA level is the tendency to do too many chores, another symptom yo seem to be exhibiting. Now, I am not a doctor, but I have seen enough actors portray them on TV that I know I can diagnose an imaginary illness with the best of them. (And my suggested medications usually involve so type of alcohol . . .)

Hang tough--you can make it thru this.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Plug in the antenna and point it south east and you should get 6 channels

klrn , kmys , kobs , kpxc , kvhc , and knic

with a little adjusting to east south east you should get klwx .

Let us know how your "Redneck antenna" works out :worship:

Oh my! What a small world - I just noticed you are from Kerrville. I lived in old Kerrpatch from 92 to 97 doing a post-doc at the USDA lab there. That water was AWFUL! I couldn't brush my teeth with it. Bleh.

Hugs,
