Mother told me a story years ago about scouts who went ahead of the main party of western settlers. The planted sunflower seeds along the way. The next Spring the settlers were able to find their way to their new home by following the sunflowers.
Anybody else heard the same or similar story.

I think it's so neat the way they follow the sun.
