Checked fluid... looks clean, no specks, not dirty even. And not low.
Went to Autozone, they didn't get a specific read ... just transmission .
So we ( me and Kenny) went back to car and it was driving fine for a block or two , no slipping... then in the neighborhood started doing it again, ... then not , then again. *#$&#
So he's thinking maybe it's the control unit or the trans speed sensor.
I'm taking it to my trusty mechanic in the a.m. but give me your take on this.
Thanks !!!

this is a 2001 4 cyl and I have a very trustworthy mechanic/shop that I've gone to for about 20 years.
Took it in today ... by the way, left my driveway and no problems at all... everything smooth , down the street , 2 stop signs, then on main city road., 2 or three stops , ... running smooth.
Got on I-40 and every thing fine up the ramp, and 65 mph everything smooth. Drove about 15 miles to the shop and it started the "slipping" or whatever after off the highway at the first stop sign.
Mechanic came back with codes 1751 and 1739 . 1751=problem in transmission, 1739 = 3rd gear pressure switch... but they say I definitely need a new transmission.
I googled it and found LOTS of easy fixes... that switch is right under the battery, easy to access and about the size of a spark plug.
So I'm considering saying , clear the codes , change the switch... drive it , diag it again and see.
