Automatic door locks question?

I have a 2007 Chevy truck with electric door locks.
I want to tap into the auto lock/unlock feature to control (lock) actuators in the service body on the truck.

Is it as simple as splicing into one of the wires in the door panel?

Can I tap in under the dash (much easier)?

Am I breaking into a sensitive computer system and causing damage that will cost way more than I want to pay?

Am I better off to just wire the actuators to a separate switch?
The ability to have all the tool boxes lock at the same time as the truck doors when I push the "lock" button on the remote is my goal.

Since the truck is pretty new, it's hard to tell if it will create problems with the ECU. With the proper interface, I've been told that they can control everything in a vehicle. That tels me that it is connected to the ECU somehow.

When I used to install stereos, we'd tap into the existing system to unlock camper tops, etc. I've been out of the biz for a long time so I can't say for sure on new vehicles. One option would be another to get an aftermarket keyless entry. It would generate it's own signal to open/close the locking actuator that is independent of the vehicle.
