Knee Replacement

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

Postby Forrest747 » Fri Sep 17, 2010 6:12 am

my personal belief is that a good man is much better than a deeply religious one.

the question was on the order of, will our dog be in heaven. nothing to serious but still important to me, personally. hoping this new knee gets me moving again.

I'm glad your pool meet-up was with a deeply religious and also good man. The two needn't be mutually exclusive!

Good luck with the 2nd knee! (hafta go back and re-read to see when it's scheduled...)

Forrest!

You and the kids will come through this. In a couple of years, you'll see these posts and not believe how far you have come.

Years ago, I had an assistant who came to our company through a local outreach organization. She didn't really talk about her past rather she focused on the future. One afternoon, things were really slow and we had a chance to sit down and talk. She was a recovering alcoholic. She was so bad at one point that she had been found passed out under a bridge. She was breathing so slowly and was so cold that the paramedics had thought her dead. They called for the medical examiner. In the mean time, they had her in a body bag, though it wasn't zipped up. The bag was warm enough to wake her up. They then got her off to a hospital and in to recovery. She always used to tell me that you aren't given anything more than you can overcome in this life. It has special meaning from someone who was once fitted for a body bag.

You'll overcome this, Forrest!

I had a bad day. Lots of pain. Nurses taking an hour to get to me. Nerve block didn't go well

Update 230am. I am feeling better. Change in meds and nursing staff that is more responsive. I didn't eat well yesterday due to pain and hopefully I can start out with breakfast. Thanks for all it helps.

been home since sunday. the home physical therapist had a visit yesterday and today and will be out on friday. been lucky that my siblings and wifes brother families have taken up residence with me to help. once again as soon as i am home i get shin splints. not fun so just resting and icing my leg. the thigh muscles and the quads took a beating. no bruises but oh so sore. this is the same side that had the hip replaced first. airport tsa not going to believe me when i tell them i have so many new joints. i am sure wolverine as the same issue. no wonder he wanted to become an xmen they have thier own plane. they upped my meds to max take home dose. the other meds just not getting it done. looking forward to the shins to feel better so i can walk. the range of motion is about 65° right now and needing help lifting. the other knee is doing better. i couldn't see myself doing both knees at the same time. well nap time.
