Home safe and sound. Becky and I really enjoyed meeting everybody in person...it was a great group and a good time. We're looking forward to next year!

We had such a wonderful time, it's going to be hard to wait for the next time. Teardroppers are the best people around. Thanks to Darren for putting things together, you have my vote for organizing next year.
We did have a little delay getting home. Pulled over by the highway patrol. He said our PikePass didn't register at the toll gate, but all he talked about was the teardrop. All the usual questions, do we sleep in it, do we tailgate, how much did it cost, etc........ No ticket or anything, just chit chat.

:) Made it home a few hours ago, we had a great time and was glad to get to talk to people we met in Minden as well as getting to make some new friends!!!

Now I know that if I see a glow in the South East sky at night, either A: A nuclear warhead was detonated, or B: Jeff is making another fire!! (Good job on the pillar of flames!)

Thanks for making us feel at home !!!

Darren, thanks for everything and the mugs are cool!!

Besides the hospitable "collector" that gave me a vase in the Chanute Walmart parking lot because it "went with the trailer", I had another score.
While letting the dog answer natures call on the way home in a field, Sandy found $23 bucks in cash scattered about! (wadded up bills) You Kansan's got so much you throw it in the road ditch???

Got home safely little before noon. Many, many thanks to Darren for organizing the get-together. D - I think you have a "life-time" appointment as the person in charge of coordinating the event. Everything was perfect - good to see old friends, new friends, great food and more great food, most scenic spot in KS, best of weather, and best fire west of Mississippi. Looking forward to when our "paths cross again."

How not to leave home

Postby queeniejeanne » Sun Sep 26, 2010 8:19 pm

We got home about 12:30. No problems, Had such a good time...so relaxing and fun. We still had room for more. those sites are so big.
Darren, thank you from the bottom of our pea pickin little hearts......All appeared to be having a good time....good time , hell I mean a great time. So much food so little time. Even Chicken Annies two nights in a row.. But the food at the Marina at the campground was fantastic...pie,icecreampieicecreampieicecream...........
Sat night about 8 pm our daughter called and she and hubby had locked keys in new dodge truck in a little town where they were doing a recovery meeting. Tried calling the "other" locksmiths in town but they were out at the ball game.
So after the meeting they went to the Apt to get the key to the Shop, where we had one of her keys for the pickup....
.At 10:45 the cell phone rings and she is screaming "did you leave all the lights on and the front door to the apt standing open??????????' well no.. thinking quickly this is not good! Call the police and let them go in first! )that's what they wear the gun for)...did that and all flatscreens in apt, all jewelry in apt, not a thing gone or out of the ordinary...we left it that way on Wed Afternoon and it was still that way on Sat night in down town Branson in an alleyway down from a very popular restaurant and bar. 1st D and I were amazed but then the COP was amazed. my question is why didn't the cops notice we were gone and call us?.....Well, there you have our excitement.....scared daughther, son-in-law, cousin and 5 little kids to death as well as us trying to remember quickly what we really have of value........nothing, she was there, the dog was at the kennel and we were with you all....there you have it. that's why no one went in or took anything...all that was valuable was not in the house.......Queenie Jeanne

Hi everyone!

Had a great time at Crawford. Got home, no problems car wise. Hope all made it home safely. Sure enjoyed seeing everyone we knew and making new friends.
It was really like we had known everyone, not just a few. Brad and Becky, we sure did enjoy the zucchini bread. Thanks! Tell Mom it was great! I really appreciated my visit with Anna, thanks so much for your diagnosis. Send me a bill. Loved Jeff's fire as usual but especially getting to see him again. Gary and Trudy put on a fabulous breakfast as usual. We love you guys and appreciate you so much! Then on Saturday we had a big surprise when Bob and Judith showed up for the day. It was great to see you both. Bear was disappointed that he missed seeing you judith. And then of course there was Darren, the man behind the event. Thanks Darren for going to all the trouble, for the gorgeous mugs, matches, and stickers for the cars. You really went overboard and we loved it all. Can't wait til next time. How about a spring one and a fall one? Now don't get upset until you think about it.
Rick, Linda, and Phil, we live so close and yet we go so far to get to visit. So good to see Bob out and about and looking so good. Jeanne and Dennis, love your new TT and hammock, (no comments on the hammock). So many cool neighbors, don 't be affended if I left your name out, remember "Grani" . We considered everyone our neighbors but Brad & Becky was on one side and Doug and Becky and daughter were on the other side. Enjoyed them immensely. I wish we could be more like the old wagon trains and be in a close circle. Better for visiting. Now that I have written a book, I had better get off before I get into trouble for taking up too much space.

Yeah right, you "found it in a ditch?". More likely the casino north of Topeka, methinks :)

Still though, $23 is enough to pay for your camping this weekend and have enough left over for some Bud Light Clamato!

Wish we could have been there. Work schedule just wouldn't allow it this year. Sue and I were able to make it out to Marion res. for the weekend though. Perhaps next year.

Handle every stressful situation like a dog.

We have the best people in the country. I don't think I heard any complaints about anything. Just a bunch of happy campers hanging out for the weekend.

For the people new to gatherings. I made up the decals and matches to hand out just because I wanted to. It's not required for gatherings in any way. I just happen to have the toys to do it and the time on my hands so I made some stuff. If you plan a gathering I hope you don't think it's required to do anything like that. We just like getting together, talking, eating, and so on.

You all have thanked me for putting on the gathering but you know that it's you that make it a success. My part is pretty simple, make the reservation, find out what's going on in the area, post the info, find answers to questions, pretty much nothing to it.

Again I thank all of you for making Crawford State Park 2010 the great gathering that it was and hope all of you plus more can make it back next year.

If you have suggestions for next year or thought there was a problem this year feel free to post it or send me a PM. I really would like to hear if you think something can be improved.

Thanks again,
Darren
