Photo of my teardrop trailer with diamond plate

Postby Erik-the-red » Sat Jan 07, 2006 6:08 pm

I can't remember who asked for a photo of a teardrop trailer with diamond plate on the front, but I just happen to own one. It also has plenty of diamond plate on the frame, sides, and fenders. Cuts down on rock chips.

Hi E-the-R,

I'm not the one who requested the photo, but I'm glad you posted them. I've been seriously considering putting a strip around the lower portion of my trailer, similar to how you have yours. I'm also going to buy a set of Jeep style diamond plate fenders to complete "the look".

After I had my all-steel teardrop trailer painted white, I took it down a bumpy dirt road. As one would expect, it had a lot of tiny rock chips on the frame and front of the trailer. Since I put the diamond plate on, it has a clean look to it and no more (visible) rock chips.

That thing looks like it could stop a bullit. Kinda reminds me of Mike's Baja Benroy.

Wow--nice and clean build!

Does that a have a conventioanl rear-opening galley? Not only does it look large from the photo (very tall walls), but the door too looks exceptionally tall.
Here we go again!

Yes, the doors are taller than normal because I designed them so I wouldn't hit my head or knee when climbing into the teardrop. The trailer also has a standard galley with a special feature. I'll take a picture of that in case anyone wants to copy it.

The trailer is probably bullet proof, but I don't want to find out. It is all steel (the skin, frame, skeleton, and bottom floor). It is heavy, but tows like a dream down the bumpiest dirt road.

Here is a photo of the galley.

And a photo of the galley with the door open into the sleeping quarters. You can sit in bed and get access to the kitchen to make yourself a sammich.
