Cookin' over coals with a flat bottom pan is darn near impossible.

Gas stove burner grates are out there setting at the curb waiting for the trash man. You can get a set of 4 for free.

Our area is dust dry and with crops standing in the field many of our Counties have an enforced burn ban. If you still want to campfire cook here is the next best thing. Some well placed coals and you are cookin'

Be it a skillet for eggs and bacon or a flat bottomed dutch oven you are all set to go !

Did I mention FREE ! :D

P.S. They make a great lid rest as well !
Growing older but not up !

I have always thought that would work well. Especially the grates from the fancy stoves that are real tall!

I use a lid stand, but wouldn't hesitate to use a stove grate if I had one.
