Steve, there was an electrical contractor in the town I grew up in whose last name was Crook. The name of his business was, what else, Crook Electric. I don't guess the name hurt him too much as he still had several service trucks with that name plastered boldly on the side of them the last I know. But it always struck me that with all the thousands of other words in the English language he might have been able to come up with a better name for his business.......

There is a man down here, Mr. Roach. He owns three grocery stores, all called Roaches'

People have a tendency to trust a business with the owners name in it more than a pseudo name, unless the friend starting the lawn business' last name is Weed.

My town had a iron works shop owned by the Crook family. My 9 year old, as he started noticing signs along the road, got the biggest kick out of "CROOKS STEEL"

I worked at a company that did work for Cox Cable co. One of the salesmen came out of his office one morning laughing. He showed me an email he recieved. It was from a woman with a terrible name. Her email was [email protected] . I left off part of her name due to it being her email. Salesman said it sounded more like a porn site than a bussiness email. I'm sure she catches alot of heat over that name. Poor girl.

I just got back from a short holiday in Brisbane, a week or so ago. On one of my early morning walks over there I spotted a lawn mowing contractors sign outside a house. It read "Apache Lawn mowing Service" and the background photograph had an inverted Apache helicopter levelling the grass. Looked impressive at that time of the day.
