Cross country travel in a tiny teardrop trailer

Just a word of encouragement to those of you who plan to travel acoss the beautiful United States in a TD or a TTT. Having struck out on a solo trip across the western deserts, the Rocky Mountains, the great plains and on to the midwest, I can't express how peaceful it has been traveling across the United States in an easy-to-pull teardrp trailer.

Every aspect of this kind of travel is an experience. Stopping at rest stops, local eating establlishments, visitor centers, gas stations, and campgrounds, brings on a new surprise. I've been invited to visit on my return trip, to Tulsa OK, to some newly aquired friend's houses, to enjoy a home-cooked meal on my way West. Wow, what a total shocker.

Now what other kind of travel venture would make this kind of surprising invitation possible? More power to TD and TTT travel, I can't say enough about it. So, if you have a proposed cross-country trip in your travel plans, have an open heart, chat often with anyone who seems remotely inerested..........and guess what, you will aquire many new friends that you haven't met yet............Ask me, I know!

Roly, heading back to Calif, from Illinois, with the TD in tow and with an expectation of seeing many more friends that I haven't met yet. This is what keeps me going, keeps me off of the couch, and living a life that I have always dreamed of...........Go for it, it works for me.

Know just what your talking about Roly. Been to the East Coast twice and am thinking about doing it again next year. Haven't been to Florida and Fort Wilderness yet. Yep, everybody should do it. We usually take 5 to 7 weeks and try not to plan on being anywhere at a given time except for when we plan on stopping off at a gathering somewhere in route.

WOW - have a great and safe return trip.

I do hope that one day I can do the same thing. Take DA MOOSE and go and explore. Would love to see sites like the Grand Canyon or any of the NAtional Parks. I seen them on TV but I can imagine how it would look being right there - inda of NOSE TO NOSE.

Your post takes me back to my non-teardrop cross-country trips. Also a joy and many nice acquaintances made along the way. Can only imagine that it'd be orders-of-magnitude more enjoyable with my teardrop trailer.

Looking at the news this morning was depressing as the low-life criminals seemed to be everywhere. But you remind me that in this nation of 300 million, most folks are good and decent, at least as decent as I like to think I am (and probably more so).

That something so simple as a teardrop trailer can break the ice is a far nicer thought for the day than the morning news was.

So glad you are having such an amazing adventure, you are so right about traveling with the teardrop. When Brandie and I met you in '07, we did 3300 miles in 3 weeks and only camped by ourselves 2 nights. the rest of the time we were at gatherings, traveling with other teardroppers and staying at teardroppers homes!!!! What a terrific family!!!! We met so many awesome people and started planning our trip across the country when I finally retire!!!!
