Question for the mechanics

Postby 05liberty » Sun Oct 10, 2010 6:59 am

I replaced the passenger front wheelbearing assembly on my 2005 liberty recently and now my ABS dash light is on ... annoying ... any one have any idea what might have happened ? I checked fuses .. all good I pluged the old unit back in and the light stayed on !?
Any ideas / suggestions would be welcomed

Did you have the key on when you unplugged the ABS sensor? If so, there may be a trouble code set in the ECM. You'll need to find a shop to plug a diagnostic scanner to the vehicle and see what's going on. Probably nothing serious, I just can't see what a bearing would do to make the light come on.

Some of our auto parts store will loan or rent a code reader. You might ask around...They can tell you how to use it and what the code means...

Good luck.

I AM a mechanic AND I own a Liberty CRD. A common problem for the Libby is any item that changes the geometry MAY cause a fault. Have an alignment check done at your earliest convenience.
