Mike,

Futon frame works great. Stuffed cotton futon mattress was uncomfortable and unwieldy so I made my own mattress out of foam rubber and memory foam and bought a zippered cover for it on eBay. Works good now.

Two weeks ago at a yard sale down the street I bought another metal futon frame *and* light mattress (not cotton) for $25. This one works wonderfully also. It's going in the 5x10 CT I'm converting.

Prem

So simple, fast and inexpensive. And if you find or make a decent foldable mattress for your futon, the sleeping and sitting are good too! Beats a built-in bed. Makes your trailer multi-use instead of a dedicated sleeper.

I saw the mention of a futon in prem's trailer but I am unable to find a picture I looked at his album with out any luck.
where can I see what he has done?
I live at a private gated man made lake and people throw away lots of good stuff, bikes, exercise machines, futons, I have found 3 so far first two were bad frames but cushions were fine so they went to a farm where there are 6 dogs the last one I found was a great find it was bent in the middle because it only had legs on the corners of the frame I removed the cushions washed the covers, straighten the frame installed legs in the middle so it now has 6 legs it is wide enought for two and sleeps great now all I need is a cargo trailer.
ol'pete still hopeful one day to own a CT.

I just changed perm to prem one day I will proofread before posting. :applause:

Left side in photo. It's got gray, curved, metal armrests.

Prem,

You mentioned in one of your posts that you bought a mattress cover, I think off of E-Bay. Do you happen to remember the seller, or was it a one time sale? I'm looking for mattress covers for two long twins in my conversion...

Smilin' Jack,

Find the cover you want on eBay and just check to see that the seller has lots of sale and a very high feedback score. 99.5%+

That's how I do it.

Prem :D
