How much sleep do you get?

Postby Forrest747 » Sat Oct 09, 2010 8:20 pm

I was wondering today how much sleep I have been getting since my surgeries. I use to get about 8 9 hours of sleep before and now down to about 6 hours broken up through the day and night. I have known some people that live off 4 hours a night and others that get 16 to 14 hours. I believe that someone that sleeps too much is much more tired. I guess with anything a happy balance is needed.

I take power Naps in the afternoon when needed. I'm an early riser - then siesta time - and work late at night. These are usually time when no one bugs me and I can get stuff done without interruptions. :)

I would love to get 8 hours of sleep but I'm a night owl and I'm lucky if I get to bed before 12:00  . So usually I get at least 5-6 hours.

At home I usually get about 7 hours of sleep.

When camping however, I usually stay up 'till 1:00am or 2:00am.

I wake up at 6:00am to call my wife so she isn't late for work. If I "sleep in", I'm up by 7:00am at the very latest.
I guess that makes about 4-6 hours. This is only for 3 days in a row.

I sleep well once I get back home but the camping hours are really enjoyable.

Seriously up until 2007 when my wife died, I use to sleep 8 hrs. straight. Then I went to 4 on, 4 off and then back to 4 on. I hated it. However things are settling down I suppose and I seem to be doing 8 again. Last week when my sons in laws asked me to sleep in their house and what was suppose to be a normal persons bed I could not do it and wished I was in my trailer. They went to Gettysburg and asked me to baby sit the aging dog. Last night I slept from 9pm to 6 am. This 12 volt blanket does wonders on a cold night camping out.

from about 10-7.... when camping, I sleep from sun down past sun up, usually about 10 hours.... the t/d and camping is more relaxing, I leave all the mental junk behind...

When visiting people, I always sleep in my t/d... gives them and me a break...

I listen to talking books at night.. when and if I wake up during the night, I restart the talking book and it puts me to sleep.... wonderful discovery.

I get 7-8 regularly.
When I go camping it turns into 8-10.

6 - 7 hours at home. We tend to go to bed early when we camp, and rise about 6:00 - 6:30. so that's 9 to 9 1/2 while camping.
