Hello from Oregon

Postby MikeW » Mon Oct 11, 2010 12:27 am

Hi all!

Been lurking here for a bit and decided to jump in.

Still trying to determine what to build but have a few ideas in mind.

A little about me....I live in Salem Oregon, born and raised in Medford, OR spending about a year on Whidbey Island, WA.

I am currently working as a contractor to a large computer/printer/IT company installing and maintaining large digital printing presses.

Before getting into the printing industry I worked as an RV tech, EMT (10 years), auto/aircraft mechanic, locksmith and a few other jobs.

I have pretty good metalworking and adequate woodworking skills.

Have not done a ground up RV but have owned factory rigs and converted a communication shelter on a 2 1/2 ton military truck to a camper.

Kids are grown so just need to satisfy the need for the wife, 2 dogs (big ones) and myself. Would like to install and operate some ham radio gear from the trailer so electrical will be important.

So far it seems like a great group here and look fwd to joining in!

Nice to have ya around Mike. I'm just out HWY 22 in sublimity, Get to a gathering with or without a trailer, You will really be motivated.

Keep us up to date on your ideas, it sounds like you are extremely able to build one.

Thanks for the welcome guys! Sold the truck a few years back to a friend of mine. It is still in Medford, OR. Will try and make a rally or two, get some and admire everyone's work.

My job keeps me on the road a lot. Am in So Cal (LA) for a couple weeks on an install. In fact I need to get back to work now. :o :)
