New in So Cal.
I have a 1040ish that was given to me about 10 years ago just to get it off the property it was stored on. I know it came out of texas before I got it cause it had Tx plates. I got it registered here no problem, yippie! It has been sitting ever since. My ex tried to work on it. HaHa! when I moved and had to tow it, it off tracked so I know he did not get the axel straight after he reassembled it. It is aircraft aluminum with two long flaps on the sides that when opened up create long screened openings the length of the trailer. the front door opens over the front and the back hatch opens with very old coiled springs. When I first got the trailer we took it to a guy who lived in Glendale (since moved out of state, I think Montana) who restored and built tears. He offered me 3 grand the way it sat. I really want to restore it but need advise where to start. I will try to post photos soon.

Sounds like you took it to George of the Teardrop Fix-it-Shop. And yes, he's in Montana now. Boy, if he offered you $3000 for the trailer on the spot, you've got something there. I too am looking forward to seeing some pictures of it. George didn't tell you what it might be? What city are you in? Oh, by the way welcome to the wacky world of teardrops.

Remember 'Teardrop Time'.......Take your time, you don't have to have it finished NOW.
