Has any one seen these? Looks like it might be nice size to take along in the tear. Looks like it can get really hot though. And looks like it has some nice features.

I never seen one before. I try to stay away from ac appliances and stick with 12 volt.

I bought one of those (same brand) about 6 months ago, Tuesday Morning close-out sale. First time I tried it out (water boiling "test") it worked great.

The second time I used it, it sparked inside the unit and blew the circuit breaker. Took it back and got a refund, no problem. From the reviews I've read about these,,, I think I just got a bum unit.

I would be tempted to try another due to the many advantages, they heat up quickly and the cooktop surface doesn't get hot. You can actually touch the cooktop without burning your finger, it's not even warm. Incredible!

Whether one chooses to do either a permanent "in-counter" installation or use it "free-standing",,, I think these would offer a safety margin vs. open flame.
