Another Newbie from Okla

Postby T3WannaB » Fri Oct 22, 2010 2:22 pm

Afternoon all. I'm another newbie from Okla. I'm not planning on a TD, (please don't banish me ) but want a TTT. A TD is just too small for me and I find I need more room when inside. I currently have a Lance 915 truck camper, but find all the extra lifting of dogs (I have 4 ankle bitters) taking its toll. Also the lack of head room in the overhead sleeping area is a real bummer. I need to be able to sit up. The site is filled with so much info it's unbelievable. I'm looking to buy an older model TTT as I don't really need or want all the bells and whistles of the newer models. :) That's it for now, take care all. Linda

Welcome Linda !!!! Nice to see another Okie! What part of the state are you living ? I'm near Oklahoma City. And we have several near Tulsa.

Have you ever seen a teardrop in person? My old one and now this new one, I can sit up in bed and still have about a foot between my head and the roof. I've seen ones with even more headroom.

That's the beauty of building your own.

But that's perfectly fine if you go with a tiny trailer !! love them! And we hope to have you come join us at a campout soon. Make plans for Beavers Bend next March.

Linda, Welcome, let me be one of the first to tell you: these guys will still let you camp with them...lots of us have TTT.....ours is an 18 ft with a slide out. When we joined it was for the tear, we got a tear, fixed it up and winter camping killed me. Sold it and bought this one, though we do have an off road type outback kinda trailer that we started with too!....you'll find most all have one, then two, then maybe three.........you get my drift.
Anyway welcome......maybe you can join us before beavers bend in March.
We are planning gatherings all winter this year. Novermber is Petite Jean in AR. We are always looking for places to gather. keep your eye on North Central as well as south central...you are not relagated to only one area.

Thank you all for the friendly welcome.

OklahomaJewel, I'm just ouside the Tulsa city limits. I have seen a few TD's at dealers and after being inside one I think a TTT is better for me. Thanks for the invite to Beavers Bend.

I'm looking forward to browsing around the rest of this site.

Queeniejeanne, the women's forum that I belong to just had a get together at Petite Jean in September. I couldn't make then but they had a wonderful time. The spaces were really nice and roomy pull thrus. Overall, the park was clean and very well taken care of.
