Who knows Spiders?

Black widows, scorpions, poisonous snakes, and wasp are exterminated on sight at my place. Inside or outside makes no difference. We do encourage the rat snakes, garden spiders, geckos and lizards to hang around and feast on any bugs and rodents that happen along. The tree rats (squirrels) are the biggest problem at our place, mainly because of all the pecan and oak trees. They even seem to have a "meeting hall" in the large sycamore.

Well, the squirrels have no dens in the sycamore but it seems to be where they get together to observe and discuss this years pecan crop and the to keep an eye on Bruno the wonder dog's location. They are extremely good at beating me to most of the pecans and are not my favorite pest..........

If you know the characteristics of the snake (how far they can strike, how fast they are, etc) it's pretty easy to stay safe.

These guys used to make statements like that about other wild animals...

Squirrels are Gods little speed bumps. I have had trouble with them chewing the facia and getting in the eaves. So seeing a flat squirrel gives me a little piece of mind.

I'm with the first posters. No spider is a good spider in or near my domicile. I just exterminated a black widow and her egg sac in my girlfriend's toolshed last week.
