Arne, you got that right  Nothing pisses me off more than trying to enjoy a quiet meal and some PIA starts talking on his cell phone loud enough to be disturbing the peace.

Dang I feel used and abused. I have one of the ATT bundles. Running a mighty $294. That's for 1 land line, 3Mbps DSL, DishNet Sat TV, My cell and Her cell. just found out we can get a 20% discount for her job at the hospital.

As a side note. If you have Unlimited Data with ATT they no longer offer it on their cell phones due to the iPhone load. So if you tether you may easily exceed your limits.

I didn't read thru every post , but am utterly sick of AT&T and their TERRIBLE customer service. I only got their home internet, wireless modem this summer. Frustrated because in the store (2 diff ones) told me a 30 minute wait to talk to someone then they had no idea what to do and couldn't help me.

I called the 800# customer service over and over, and no one was ever very helpful. I was quoted a different price in the store than on my bill., I'm in the central time zone and found then that i'd call at 6 pm, and the phones were closed !!!! I had a $100 rebate , was leary that it would ever come ... finally 6 weeks or more later it came. I STILL cannot log on their site online to pay my bill.

My cell phone is with Verizon. I never have problems getting a signal, always found help in the store and online - and always speaking true english. Just got a new phone 10/14 and guess what - the rebate card came in the mail yesterday ! I LOVE their customer service compared to AT&T .

I don't have cable , uverse or satelite tv. Probably the better for it.

I told At&T to shove it back in August and am STILL getting billed. And its too hard to get ahold of a customer service rep to do anything about it. I'll let em come for me. Then I might get to speak to a human being.

I'm interested in hearing what you guys come up with.

I currently have a bundled Comcast package, Phone, Cable and DSL for $99 a month. I'd love to know how to reduce that cost.

Wow - I don't know what's going on with everyone else but we're paying $65 a month for 2 AT&T cell phones with unlimited AT&T to AT&T calling. We don't text or use internet on our phones - it's available to us, but we don't use it. We're paying $120 a month for Charter 8Mbps internet, HD service on 1 TV, and a Family Digital TV package on 2 others. We ditched our land line several months ago when cable internet was made available here. The only reason we kept it that long was because we were still on dial-up.

Oh, and speaking as the husband of a customer service agent for an internet service provider (yup - tech support,) let me say DON'T sit there and call an agent stupid. They mute their microphones and laugh at you behind your back - bank on it. Why? Well, if you're so stinkin' smart, why are you calling tech support in the first place? You shouldn't need tech support if you're so much smarter than the agent is...

I know that sounded snarky, but it wasn't. I typed it with a smile on my face - no, really! Oh the stories I could tell about tech support callers - and I don't even work there...

For $35/month you can get bare DSL from AT&T in my area; no land line, no additional charges. Net10 prepaid cell costs $30 for 300 minutes and 2 months, so not for long calls.

Magic Jack (working thru the computer) gives the near equivalent of an unlimited land line including long distance for $20/year and a one-time $20 charge for the hardware. If the computer is off, voicemail takes a message and emails you the recording, say to your work email. Otherwise, you can listen to voicemails next time you turn on the computer.
