I want to share with all my T&TTT friends about a recent change in my life.

My wife, Beth and I have filed legal separation. We have been talking about this for two years. We did not just do this in the heat of an argument. We went to counseling for nine months over the past two years.

We are doing our best to remain friends. We have been married 30 years, so it will be difficult. We are doing joint custody of the dogs, but she insist that I keep the cats..lol...

Beth has bought her very first house. I wish her much happiness. Her dad was a contractor too and she will do one heck of a good job with it.

Sorry to hear that, Steve. Winter is a harder time to break up because of the holidays and all the time that is spent indoors. If you can, bury some of your time in your build. That will keep your mind absorbed in something and keep you looking forward to the future.

The kitties are a good choice for you because they require less attention and can be left at home alone for longer periods of time. But, dogs are better companions, even if they are more effort.

Karl is back together with his girlfriend. Others have posted about separation and gotten back together. 30 years is a long time. But then, there is a reason for everything. This down point that you are experiencing now may just be a dip in the roller coaster of life, with the next exciting life experience just around the corner!

Keep your chin up and your eyes looking forward.

Hey Steve,

Sorry to hear that you and your wife are going through the difficult changes that come with separation. Hang in there, better days are coming. Keep your sense of humor and keep working on that TD!

Steve,

I saw your news earlier today in another thread and have thought about your plight. I don't know how life was for you the last few years, but as I type this I am getting screamed at. My friend there are probably better days ahead. For the most part you are a gentleman and posses a fine sense of humor.... :D I honestly suspect you are going to be a blissfully happy man in the near future... After all you got the cats 8)

I have found...

Postby donald & daisy duck » Fri Nov 19, 2010 12:29 am

Marriage is like a deck of cards -- in the beginning, all you needed was two hearts and a diamond.

But after years pass, there are times you wished you had a friggin’ club and a spade....

Thanks everyone, with friends like you guys, I have all I need.

And, I will be working on my camper this winter. I have a nice big garage for my car and my camper...

I have made another life changing decision too. I will be selling the mountain house this Spring and building a very small retirement house for me. ;)

So, stay tuned to this up and coming, wild and crazy, old man's adventures.

Hoooboy, Steve-o; both Steve-o's... I've been there, in a place where two people no longer mix. Even when the separation is amicable, it is still very difficult to swallow. I know how you must feel.

Chances are as you continue to embrace what it is that makes you happy and as you are "being true" to yourself you will cross paths with that next special someone... and that someone, sharing your interests, will be a restful person for you.

Always sad to see a marriage end, 30 years is an awesome run, and people are bound to change in that time.

best wishes to you and her.

:( Well 10 years ago I would know what to say...I wish you both well and hope neither of you jump too fast into another relationship... Hope you take the time to get to know yourselves as mature adults...

Blessing to you.
