Howdy from Texas

Postby WildTexan » Thu Nov 18, 2010 3:41 pm

Hello all fellow TD lovers! I'm new to TD's, but no to the camping lifestyle. My wife and I currently camp in a 26' travel trailer. (Its not really camping when you have running hot water. LOL!) We are only 28 y/o, and way too young to be limiting places we can camp by traveling with such a big rig. We both are very much looking forward to building a TD. We have already started with the frame, and are currently working on the floor. I hope ya'll don't mind, but I will have LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of questions.

Thanks,

Mark

Mark,

Sounds like you've caught the fever for which there is no cure other than building a teardrop.

What part of the great state are you from?

If you haven't already, stop by the South Central section for area teardrop gatherings. I'd recommend dropping in on a few to see how many options you have on your build. By the way, they welcome tent campers - I'm still building my teardrop - and folks camping in those mobile home away from homes.

Take care, Tom

Welcome to the forum - from another Texan. This is the best time to start building in Texas due to the heat in the summer can make it impossible to do anything without suffering a heat stroke. 8)

Welcome WildTexan from the Fort Worth area. A few of us will be at Ray Roberts Lake SP the first weekend in Dec. Come on up & camp with us. Bring the big trailer if you want to.

My husband and I would like to welcome you to the South Central Group. We are also new to the group and was able to attend the October gathering. We really enjoyed it. We look forward to seeing you at one of the future gatherings.
