Unless they have changed since last year, you can not book a specific site in advance. All you can do is get 'a' spot. Maybe that's why it said no availability. I just called the local office to see if their records show that all sites were booked. They were checking people into the park at the moment, so she asked me to call back in a few.

I don't see how the park would be full. Last year we were the only ones there.

Hi Julie, Yes, Woody is hosting a gathering at Lake Whitney SP, near Waco the weekend before (the day after Thanksgiving).

Hi Ms. Todah, Yeah, I was just trying to book any space that was available, All TX State Parks won't let you book a specific site. It seems kind of impossible for them to be booked, so I feel confident that it is the site. I didn't think about calling the park itself, I thought they couldn't do reservations until you were right on top of the campng date.

Thomas,

When I spoke with them yesterday, the live body on the phone told me 77 were available.

Yeah... hehe I am not too worried about getting a spot for this one, I am looking forward to it though!

Not to thread-jack but my motivation for booking asap is so that I make myself go since I know I love camping but I am also on a big push to get my engine installed and get the car rolling so I can go for a drive for my birthday in January, so I am also kind of goal obsessed. I think we can all relate to this when it comes to getting campable in a teardrop/TTT.

It's a fine line to walk because I am just about ready to put this:

Into THIS:

So I can drive THIS:
