I have been looking at the site and thinking about a teardrop trailer for awhile too. I like designing and have about 8 variations.

But the situations have developed that my daughter and father are way out of town and seeing them involves renting hotel/motel rooms for a weekend visit. My wife agrees that bringing our own "room" would be easier and cheaper when we go to see them. We also have been camping for years but it takes so long to set up camp it really isn't practical for only a few days. (we do glamping - glamor camping - with a separate kitchen tent and our living tent is a 15'x21' canvas with a break down bed and table and carpets and lamps all inside in the tent.)

So I am finalizing the plans for a 5' wide, by 4' high by 9'-4 long tear. my earlier designs were for a more elaborate 7' wide, by 5' high by 10' long stoopy (with a 5' high interior so though I could stand it would be bent over some... )
I was just afraid that I was planning something too ambitious for a first time and it would turn around to be a big elaborate stupid. :?

As soon as I finish other projects, and arrange finances, I will be getting to the build...

Thanks for all the tutorials and directions on this site. They are really great sources of information and inspiration.

Welcome aboard, Langdon. When your build is finished, you will soon find out that camping now simply becomes, backing up into the driveway, turning off the engine, kicking off your shoes and Bingo, you go to bed. Well perhaps I left out a few steps, but you get the idea. Good luck.

One can certainly git as "involved" in the campin experience as one cares to... or as "on the go" as ya can.

What with side tents, tables, chairs, dutch ovens, computers, cable TV,bicycles, boats.,cameras, etc.

One could very easily make it a complicated experience and even easier...a simple and relaxing JOY !

Not that the"complicated" ones don't enjoy their "style" of campin...

Heck, we even got one nutjob who brings along a couple a mannequins and a BUNCHA junk when HE goes campin..

Sumone on here says it BEST : ( and I'll put a little twist on it) "Do what YOU want, cause those who matter, don't mind and those who mind..DON'T MATTER ! "
