Do any of you have an idea as to how an awning can be installed to the Kit tear without the old style frame?

Finn....you can use this stud type system. These have a twist top on them, but on my '49 Kit it had a similar stud system to attach the hatch tent with. Each side of the Voyager has about 7 studs so that the awning can be attached to either side and I don't have that long track for the awning. Doug

Doug thank you for the good info. How do I determine the size for it now? Also Id like to do one for our other tear.

This one. Its 5 foot wide.



Cant determine the width or length for it either. Course Im no sewer in any case. It does have the caravan awning aluminum profile on it as well.

Maybe I,ll ask the wife to sew the awning welt onto an ol sheet and play with the shape and design a bit?

Hey Hikerjohd I got those poles at walmart. They are replacement tent poles. I got my adjustable tent poles for the outside also at walmart. Both were, if I remember correctly, @ $10 each. I used two packages of the replacement poles and one for the support. Instructions are on the replacement poles on how to cut to size. Just don't cut too short, you want to stretch it tight or it will still sag. Better to cut long then shorten if needed. If not available at the store, they are available on-line, that is where I got mine, with free shipping!

I can sew canvas and have made several awning for my boat. I need ideas on how to deploy an awning for simple setup.

I want to be able to open the rear barn doors of my CT conversion and mount an awning simply to the rear top. I'm thinking of using flagpole type fasteners for the poles, fixed to the side walls near the floor, holding the poles straight out at an angle. Should only take two lines and stakes then.

But not sure how to do this with minimal fuss.
