Hello all GREAT SITE! I'm building the generic benroy and installed 1 1/2" spars. My question is....Do you fill the 1 1/2" void or use 3/4" insul board?
In my case I insulated with double layer 3/4" blue board insulation. Top sides and bottom. Not to say it "IS" the way to do it. It is just how I done it.
By the way welcome to the land of madness. Ask away you'll always get at least one good answer before the thread goes a stray Jack I'll leave the pertain info. of what us simple minded people like lots of..
Welcome to land of...no make that....naw...just welcome aboard ...yes I would definitely fill the void both to help support the roof but as importantly to leave no room for condensation to form between the roof and ceiling....As HVM alluded to...we luv pics so puhleeeaazz take some to prove ya dit it ya'self and to show us...cause we really do love da pics (ok Steven....that was for you) madjack

Seahorse, Welcome! I'm building the Generic Benroy too. As others have stated, yes you should fill the voids. I used the ridge (pink) foam boards in the flat areas and the blue backed boards in the radius. It bends a lot easier. You can check out my build pictures here. http://tnttt.com/album_ ... er_id=1098 If you have question about this build, I'll try to help.
If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got.
I agree with everything that the guys said up there... But since I didn't have any of the blue backed stuff I used pink stuff, and kerfed it. A lot more work, but it works. I would try to find the blue backed stuff though... Bledsoe has some good photos of that... I'm thinking of this one in particular...
