Windows for doors and sides

Postby shamrock » Tue Jan 24, 2006 10:52 am

I,m trying to find any info on where I can get custom style windows or how I can make my own? And what to make them out of, or how thick they should be. I like the front windows in the "Camp-inn" teardrops but those look like custom's with the radius corners and all. Also how are they held in so they wont leak when it rains with big rubber seals?
:? holly cow the more I'm writing the more I'm getting confused!!
Any help would be great.---Thanks

The Camp_Inn front window uses a custom forming process on the aluminum itself along with a big ol' rubber gasket...you can get Lexan/Uvex from TJtrailer/Redneck Trailer supplies (Rich's List) or even from the local box store, there are aslo other window suppliers listed....gaskets and such can be had from Austin Hdw, McMaster-Carr or your local (auto) glass supplier, for custom sized crankout units, try a local Al awning/window fabrication shop

Shamrock,

Hey, you are welcome to stop by our shop anytime to get ideas. Maybe even see the window install first hand and see if it is something you want to tackle. We have two methods for front windows we use. The ones on our 550s like Jack described and a simpler method we use on the 560 raindrops.

Not sure where in the Milwaukee area you are in. Waukesha is about 2 hour 45 minutes from us, less if you have a heavy foot.

Welcome Shamrock! For a front window (if flat will work) check out Joanne's site. http://www.asolidfoundation.com/dd_shell_2.shtml She found a window from a camper that worked for her.
If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got.
