General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

Superb

Dear Mike,

You certainly deserve it.

Many of us have been discussing, on PM's, the best way to convince you to do this. We know, and everyone else should know, you have resisted all attempts to get you to ask for donations to this site. I also want to publicly thank DEAN for making the unsolicted paypal donation to Mike last week which probably convinced Mike this is a noble and proud way to go.

Michelle is also to be thanked for putting up with your generosity while you experienced a period of unemployment.
Regards,

Guy

I'm in. If not for this site, some of my work days would be long indeed.

Mike, if it was not for your site I would not have a tear today. I am glad to help. I could even put up with advertising if needed. just no popups. :applause:

I just sent in my donation. This one is a no-brainer. This site was a God send when building my tear. I couldn't have done it without the advice and encouragement of the folks here. Now, that my project is done, I thouroughly enjoy the fellowship and comaderie here.

No need to change my member ranking. I prefer the "Pixel pusher" designation.

Mike,

Money sent X 2 for Linda & Me. This is a donation for the board, but don't you need one for "adult kindercare" ?

No need to change my ranking, happy just to help.

Count the newb in also! Payment already sent.

Mike, since I'm new here, I hope I'm not out of line with the following suggestion.

I'm actually one of five Race Directors for the Outlaw Pontiac Drag Series www.outlawpontiacdragseries.com . We are all volunteers that have organized forums and a Drag Racing Series for East Coast Pontiac bracket racers. Just like Teardrop owners, Pontiac racers are few and far between in the bigger picture of racing. However, we have plenty of item specific vendors that make donations, parts, services in exchange for real estate on our site.

Have you ever considered approaching parts vendors or builders to see if they would consider advertising on this site? You may be surprised at the response you may get. We have sponsors that give as much as $1000 down to $150. We break them into different levels Bronze through Platinum depending upon how much they give.

Futhermore, you already have many users with connections that I'm sure would be willing to help the cause, as long as you don't show up with a new Hummer as a tow vehicle. Again, I hope I'm not out of line here. Personally speaking, I can't tell you how happy I am to have discovered this site and it's members. I haven't built my first project yet, however, I feel absolutely confident I'll be able to pull it off correctly the first time.

Take Care!

Mike, let me slide some money into my paypal account and i'll send it your way.
If push comes to shove, you can send me the forum on a CD and i'll load it on my Linux server and we'll go from there... :worship:

Jim,

Thanks for you offer. I'm guessing that won't be necessary. The users are telling me loud and clear that they like the forum, as it is, where it is...

Excellent thought though... are you hosting out of your house?

I just got a panic pm from Heikki wondering if the site was going down.

I just wanted to post a note here to make it crystal clear, the site is not going down. The users have voted loud and clear that they like this site, and want it to stay up.

With the many generous contributions, we will stay up... I thank you all for your support.

I think he meant to say "include your forum name". But that's pretty easy with a last name like Nutter! 8)
