Saying Hi-Fort Worth TX

Hey all. I will be starting my first TT as soon as my tax refund comes in. I will be using my own design and will post up a build journal as I go. One question thought. Where can I source pre constructed doors and windows>

Welcome to the forum from Fort Worth. There's several of us in the area so look at the South Central thread for gatherings this year.

If you google "teardrop trailer" you should find some links for parts.

Good luck with your build

Good luck...

Welcome gunbearer,

What's your first name? If you want to take a look at the world's longest teardrop build - still in progress - we're close by in Watauga.

Take care,
Tom

Hi Tim,

November of this past year was the 2-year anniversary of my build. There is light at the end of the tunnel. It will be campable for the spring season and finished completely this summer.

Take care,
Tom

Kevin,
I am thinking more along the lines of the "square teardrop" as depicted in the design library. Probably on a 5x8 trailer. I have not decided on a galley or not, I am 6'2" and need at least 6 feet for the mattress. That does not leave a lot of space for a galley at the back. I am planning on using a full size mattress. or 2 Singles side by side.

I am debating cantilevering the cabin by 6" on each side to get a 6 foot width so I can place the mattress sideways. Since I am new to this I am concerned about the 6" overhang on both sides. What are your thoughts on this?
