Craigslist Find - Coleman Model 413G Stove

Lanterns, stoves, etc... anything old!

I have been using a 425, E or something like that, for over 20 years and have never scorched it. Even last Sep. Glyphs gathering where I steamed 2 batches of corn on the cob at full blast. Or the many times i have used it in the shop to heat gears and bearings for assembly.

Here's the 413G in operation after the cleaning. We took it out to the desert during our family traget practice session. It was cold so hot cocoa was flowing:

I did however feel that the flame was little hot when I shut the tank valve off, and I continued to hear a "hiss" of escaping gas air so I broke it down again and cleaned it. I must have been a little rough on the valve knob and broke it:

I also found a plumbing washer in the gas cap:

I removed it and I had pressure so I didn't replace the gas cap washer.

All in all a good stove. I just got to buy a replacement valve, or valve assembly. I'll get one Ebay I'm sure. The Old Coleman Parts Site is still down.

Mark...you might be able to do a repair on it with epoxy, provided that you have all the fuel/oil off the area. I'd try that first, get the piece off the valve stem and build up a fillet of epoxy on the back side. I do have a knob...not in prime condition, has a small piece out of the outer lip on the front, usable though if you want it....free...lemme know. Doug
