Anybody tangle with a Coleman 290CLX?

Man, what a wierd creature! The generator doesn't have a paper tube inside, the pick up tube assembly is PLASTIC and there's no cleaner rod adjuster!! I bought a new pick up tube ass'y because I broke the other one prying it apart to see how it works......

I got it running tonight but it's not very adjustable, as far as light output. I've done some reading on the 290's and they are different because the pick up tubes have a scrader valve in the top (it does) which allows the adustable light ouptut.

Oh, I already cleaned out the spider webs from the air tube......

I cleaned one of those up for a guy at work. Needles to say I was not very pleased with the design. Cheapo newer products like this is what signals the demise of many once great companies...

It did burn well once cleaned up but as you found, it is what it is.
