Anyone notice some major weather changes? It is July 30th and it is so wet outside this morning that water is dripping off the house. it looks as if it rained. I see major changes here in Humboldt County the past few years. It is always foggy in the AM because of the heat inland but it cleared out somewhat early. Now it is late afternoon before I see sun!
I HATE IT. I love to wake up to sunshine and it just doesnt happen here. Moving is out of the question so I guess I better pack up the teardrop and go someplace where I can see the sun in the morning.
there... that is my whine for the day....thanks feel better now

Eunice,

We have the sun every morning, too bad the heat will melt the body. We have had 48 days of 100 degree plus so far this summer.

I just read this about lightening strikes...I did not realize how many folks are killed by lightening each year...

The highest death rates from lightning in the United States are in Florida, which is known as the lightning capital of the country. According to the service, from 1959 to 2003 lightning killed 3,696 people in the United States. Of those, 425 were in the Sunshine State. (The only state that did not record a lightning death in the period was Alaska).

Steve, I'm not joking when I tell you it gets very scary when a thunderstorm rolls around. It takes a lot of guts just to get from your vehicle into your home.

This afternoon we had yet another severe thunderstorm. About 6:00 o'clock I had to go to my office and drop off some 2'x4's so I backed the truck in and it had just begun to rain. I got out of the truck, went to open the roll gate and saw lightening hit a tree across the street. I don't remember getting back in the truck but when I did I looked in the mirror and my hair was standing up on top of my head. It was striking every couple of seconds and it was scaring the crap out of me. Me and the 2'x4's went home...

Just joined this forum and found this thread. I'm totally amazed at the talent I've bumped into. I'm only on page 23 of the thread so I have a lot of reading to do. I'm in awe of the tear drop ladies. You almost give me the nerve to build my own...almost.

Hi and welcome Evie. Build or buy, it doesn't matter. Do whatever suits you best. I bought mine 3 years ago and I love it. Go to a gathering and check out some teardrops up close and go from there. Have fun.

Image Evie and Kathy! Most important is that you get to go out and camp off the ground! About building---if I can do it most people can! We really will help! ;) And please don't forget the :pictures: :pictures: :pictures:

Becca, I'm in Wisconsin-Madison to be exact. I am liking your handle of Cajun Lady-I never try to go more than a year without going to New Orleans!

Kathy, that's because I'm from South Louisiana, born and raised there. Now residing in Tampa, FL. Hope to move back there in the not to far away future.
