ITG4 - International Teardrop Gathering

Postby George T. » Sun Jan 30, 2011 11:14 pm

June 16-19, 2011
Pioneer Village - Minden, Nebraska

The 4th International Teardrop Gathering is returning to Pioneer Village in Minden, Nebraska. This location is equally accessible by enthusiasts from the east and west coasts. Minden and the surrounding area has some great attractions, and Pioneer Village has suitable campgrounds with plenty of space, and a most enthusiastic and cooperative staff.

You need not have a teardrop trailer to attend this gathering, just a love, fascination or curiosity for teardrop trailers. It is open to all forms of campers. Car campers, tent campers, popup campers, motorcycle campers, travel trailers, housetucks, buses, motor homes. New, old, vintage, homebuilt, self built, manufactured. Drive in, bicycle in, fly in, walk in. You get the idea. All are welcome.

The main campground will be reserved for teardrop trailers first. It is after all, a teardrop gathering! Remaining space will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. The street just to the north of the campground and the primitive area across the street from the main campground will be available as well. Just FYI, your ITG host George, has camped in the primitive area for all of the previous ITG gatherings.

With this being said. Come on down! Grab a seat by the campfire and join us. We'd love to get to know you!

George

Way to go, George. I've been waiting for this announcement and if all goes well, I'll see you there. Hopefully, there will be some caravan plans in the works, to get folks together as they head for the gathering. It worked great, the last time we all left from So Calif. You have quite a list of all sorts of invited travel units. Good for you. What you are doing is a big job and I know all will go well. Thanks for your efforts.

Yes, let’s talk about the upcoming ITG. Coming June 16th - 19th at Pioneer Village in Minden, NE. If at all possible, this is a "can't miss" gathering, and if you've never been, Pioneer Village is a "can't miss" location/attraction! I encourage all to make it if you can. This gathering has always been well represented by the South Central Tears and the Mid West. Let's have a big turnout this year. We had 139 trailers at the first ITG. I'm sure we can beat that. And if anyone has any complaints from the past gatherings, please PM me so we can try and resolve your complaint.

This is a non-Tear Jerker sponsored event. Although ALL are welcomed and encouraged to attend.

Hey George, we plan on being there. This will be our third, we also missed the first one. :? But this year we will have to decide which teardrop to bring (or the re-done PEEB), not both like at ITG 3. Can't wait! Always great fun & great people! Let us know if there is anything we can do to help!

Greetings from cold Colorado!

Brrrrrrrrr! I know that we are all looking forward to warmer weather and the ability to comfortably sit around the campfire and visit with friends.

Until then, we have to be content with gathering around our communal computer monitors! It just isn't the same!

I am looking forward to seeing everyone at ITG4. Old friends and the friends that I haven't had the chance to meet yet.

Take care and stay warm.

Hello Everyone,

I just sent my paperwork to register for the gathering. I hope I can get in the grassy area, since that concrete will be mighty hot in June. The wife and I will be bringing our little cassette trailer all the way from Easter Central Florida.

Looking forward to meet all of you.

Cheers,

Ed

this makes me sad I only live 100 miles away from Minden and itg4 is the only weekend of the whole summer I can't come. I sure hope there is another one next year.

Just be sure to tell Pioneer Village after you get your ITG Reg.# that you want in the Primitive Area. If you don't want over there, it should be noted that all the camp sites have grass. Only the streets have pavement (concrete). :)

Sorry to burst your bubble. But the ITG only happens every other year, meaning the next one after this year will be in 2013.

Hello Everyone,

Thank you Gage for the advice, once I get my Reg# I will ensure I mention that I will like the grassy area.

Cheers,

I don't believe that there is a campground RV park map on the web. It's kinda like a KOA. slots next to each other, under large trees, gravel road. The primitive camping is an open field, get a place under a tree for some shade, watch the low spot if it looks like rain. Just me...but I think the primitive area beats the campground portion. Have fun ya'll. Doug
