New in New Mexico

Postby Anne Jones » Sat Jan 22, 2011 6:03 pm

I am anxiously waiting for my Camp Inn Raindrop to be delivered. Weather is making it difficult for transort but hope to be camping by the end of March or frist of April. I live in the "Four Corners" area of the state so I am close to Colorado and Utah campsites and my co-pilot (Max the doberman) and I are looking forward to this summer.

Welcome!

I LOVE New Mexico, and have been several times for vacation. I'm actually in the planning process for a trip with my teardrop to NM later this year.

OMG, Anne, a Camp Inn Raindrop, what an excellent choice. As you probably know, this is one of the finest teardrop trailers produced, with excellent fit and finish. Whenever I get a chance to tour their Wisconsin "production facility", I am amazed at the quality of their trailers. The owners are so friendly and helpful, and you couldn't have made a better choice. (I used to tell folks to mention my name, when considering purchasing a Camp-Inn, and they would get a tremendus discouont). Well, I soon realized that no matter how I carried on, there was no way that they would even consider trading my 8 year, little old, rapidly deteriorating, hand-made woody, for a stunning, brand new Camp-Inn. So, reluctantly, I refrain from making such comments. (You're welcome, Betsie)

I say all of this tounge-in-cheek, and am confident that you will enjoy many years of trouble-free camping in a Camp-Inn. I have yet to find a disappointed owner, and whenever I come across a Camp-Inn in a campground, It renews my feelings about what a neat, (and waterproof) camping unit, is being manufactured in Neceda, Wisconsin.

Congratulations on your purchase, and I fully hope to see you making your distant maiden voyage, to our sunny California. If you do, swing on by and we can talk teardrops. (full hook-ups available in my side yard). I am sure that Max and my 15 lb cat, will get along just fine. If that doesn't work, plan on making some of the western states gatherings, and you will be amazed how friendly we teardroppers are. Good luck on your future travels and I hope to see you at a cozy campfire, sometime in the future.

Hi neighbor, welcome to the forum. Jasmine and I look forward to seeing you and Max at a campground this summer. Keep an eye on the South Central region for the Cloudcroft gathering in July.

Welcome! Lots of GREAT camping in the 4 Corners area. We're in Mesa, AZ. One of our favs is the S.E. corner of the K.O.A. in Cortez, CO. You are barely a day's drive from some of the BEST places to o'nite. I am envious. :envious:

Hi, Anne

I live near Santa Fe and will be building a tiny camper, larger than a teardrop, for my 9-yo twins and me to camp in. I have my Harbor Freight trailer already, just waiting for some warmer weather as I have no garage to work in.

Congrats on your new trailer. You'll have to come out to ITG in the Summer. I was out near you last Summer visiting my parents. My dad was working in Ft Defiance and Shiprock.

My Raindrop arrived. It's WONDERFUL. Thanks to all who wished me well.

Yes I live near Farmington and Shiprock. I am looking forward to going to the Largo Canyon area this spring for some archaeology photo opportunities. Some really neat stuff up there that's not on the regular path. Also this summer in the La Plata Mountains, Vallecito Lake and Lemon Dam area. Max and I will be busy. I want to stay off the regular camp map if possible. :)
