Hope to have it roadworthy if not complete by early March for a trial run.

Yes, he's almost 39 (but, flip the numbers around).

Today is roofing day. We've glued and screwed the fixed perimeter portion in place.

Next, we'll position the pop-up top in place and rabbet the hinges and fix the position of the linear actuator. Should be fun.

We don't have pictures that show the many little details that we worked on today. The morning was spent at HD, ACE, and an RV store gathering up bits and pieces needed to wire, switch, and otherwise distribute AC and DC around the trailer.

Having an experienced hand around sure makes the work go more quickly, more efficiently, and more intelligently. Thanks, Dad.

Not camping yet, but happy nonetheless. This project has been a ball.

My neighbor Gerald Finley wasn't around for these photos, but he helped with just the right tool when needed and with some creative bandsaw work.

Awesome build Mike!

If I ever build another trailer * * * looks around to see if wife is in the room * * * I would like a Compact-like trailer.
Your design, skill and focus (I've learned that is a very important quality) is an inspiration.

Keep up the great work and build on!!! :applause: :applause:

Richard,

I was attracted to the Compact design for a couple of reasons: (1) it has standing room when you need it, (2) it fits inside a standard garage with the top down, (3) there is an inside galley, and (4) lots of variations in interior design are possible. My layout is quite different from others, which just goes to show how personalized this neat little trailer can be.

Hi Mike: I can't believe your progress on your pop-top. You are doing some high quality work. I like the use of the Kreg jig. It really speeds things up and it is very easy to use. I am using it on my build as well.

I have been following along and I like your work.

Mike,

I can't add much more than what everyone else has said. You build and building skills are impressive and that dazzling, happy smile while working with your father is contagious, even in pictures. :D

You are very fortunate to still have your father and to be able to share this time with him.
