Like I said before, If I'm dating a guy that's taller, he'll just have to spoon! (hint, hint) ;)

I also wanted to have the ice chest inthe galley because that's the point of the teardrop --- not dragging out crap out of the car !

It's nothing fancy, but thanks for the comments! I appreciate it!

OK Here's my 3bits!

1. I am 6 foot tall and have a full size mattress in a Queen size "box" area. I haven't had any problems ever hitting the back wall. I've spooned and camped alone equally in it.

2. My truck is STILL full, but I am getting better. Right now I put the easyup, hammock and all the chairs on the galley counter so the only thing in the back of the truck is my fold up grille (Thank you forever Spinnernut) and lots o firewood. Keeping as much IN the teardrop makes for an easier trip.

3. I vote to disagree with the: "Nothing Fancy" line!

Ok... bumpity bump bump ba dumbp!

the EM:JB build pretty much came to a stop . Not for lack of trying, but my builder and friend Kenny's dad was getting worse and had been in the hospital for the last couple of months, well really the last six. And Kenny's been his caretaker, and working nights and I said let's just not worry about it .. LCG , thanksgiving, then Christmas .. and his dad was getting worse .
Mr Green passed away Dec 27th and services were yesterday. Now it's a new year . Kenny is doing okay, will still have a hard time the next few weeks with bills, paperwork, etc but I know he'll start working on it again and we need to weigh it and order the aluminum.

I'll get another update and more pics when something happens.

BUMP IT UP BUMP IT UP .....

Okay , I promise to get a newer pic on here but it won't be for a couple of weeks. Finally got the aluminum ordered, gotta pick it up in Tulsa on Feb 4, work and such that's the soonest we can get there.
Got 4x12 in .040 for the sides and had to do 5x10 in .050 for the top . Couldn't get any 12 ft so there will be a seam , but it will be low in the front , and not too noticeable anyway.

Finishing some electrical on Sunday.

NINE weeks till camping season !!!

Hi Julie,

I'm glad to see that the Jewel's progress is moving along! That was a great find on the side aluminum. :applause:

As far as the seams, they're pretty easy to do. Other than pe-drilling all of the holes for the screws, my three seams didn't take too long and seem like they will hold up well.

   I was hoping that was a mis-print. BTW, I understand about the no pictures part. I'm spending all my time building. Pictures can come later after Beavers Bend.

Take care,
Tom

Julie,
Camping season never ends here in Michigan. That's why we're all going to HELL in 3 weekends. Wish you could join us!

Brrrrrrrbbummmmmppppp... said with chills.

Too freakin cold lately , even with a heater in his shop. And then we were to go to Tulsa to get aluminum last weekend but got snow, and Tulsa got MORE snow. So had to put it off. Now my wonderful friend Ron is picking it up for us tomorrow, we'll be up there Saturday to get it ... but found out they shipped our one piece of 5x 10 and damaged it en-route from Houston . They shipped a new one, and bang! messed it up too .

So we'll get what we can for now, the pieces for hatch and sides and that means we'll get the sides on , which in turn means doors and such going .

Kenny has gotten the galley light in , and we brainstormed a clever idea for keeping the little glass globes in place during travel.
Taillights are placed and wired . I think I updated pics in my album on photobucket, but nothing interesting to post here. sorry .

It's different, of course I'm all electric ( I know that doesn't seem logical to some)

It's a three light track light from Lowe's ... with swivel lights .
Got that from someone else that used a track light, and liked the idea of being able to point a light to the counter, and one to the stove , etc.
haha and looks MUCH better than this little pic.

Of course later there may be a chandelier hanging from the EZ up ! haha

We got 80# gas props for the hatch ... 80# seems like a lot ,but Mobile Mart had them for about $14 each and same price for the next smaller ones. There will be a pull out stove top/ toaster convection oven on the lower left side. I think I'll really like having a toaster oven rather than a microwave .

and the inside light ???? I will admit, I stole 2bits idea of the 'bedside lamps' however mine will be a bit more dainty! haha and surprising how much light two 25 watt clear bulbs put out !

Julie, I had the 3 light trac lights inside mine and loved it. Could have them face anyway I needed them. I did change out the bulbs for lower wattage because they were hot. Made a big difference after that.
