That's different than both your version and mine.

What's the real thing?

Or make your own

I am thinking something like the "Kilroy was here" person looking over the fence, rays over the head and under it

Coolman

I like how you think Randy....I'm gonna file that one....I've got the blast mask...maybe cut one and etch it into a newer globe...could be a fun different look! Doug

Doug, I been thinking about getting a 200 and painting the font a hammered green for my own christmas tree lantern. Such a globe would go good with that.

I can't think of a better model to do that to.

I've got more 220's and 228's with the flat sided globes than 200 types. It would be easier on them to etch. I usually pull any vintage globes and set them aside....Only run the cheaper after market Chinese in anything that I'm hauling or gonna etch...A vintage globe is at times worth much more than a complete beater lantern. The sum of the parts is worth more than the complete critter! Watch nice vintage globe prices!

I love finding a beater lantern for under 25$ and the globe is a nice green etched one....It's a money maker at that point! Just about any older lantern that has a good globe in it for that price is a deal. A new chinese repop globe will cost you 15$ or thereabouts at least on a 220. I've never found one that didn't have at least 10$ in parts after I pulled a globe. Doug

Mark, I'm working on one like what Randy posted. When I get it finished I'll let you know.

If I can't sleep again tonight it'll be ready by morning.

Doug, I got to see one of your IRG lanterns at LCG last October, a nickel plated one. Very nice. Just curious, how are you cutting your masks? Darren

Actually, Dean cut the masks for the globes and etched them, I built the lanterns. I've hand cut mask in the past, or had it done on a vinyl cutter. CD's files worked great so I could take it right in and have the sign co. just whip it up. Doug
