3 times 1/4"

1/4" skin, 1/4" cut-away frame, 1/4" skin...

Anyone tried this way of sandwiching walls??

I have located some 1/4" insulation.

Not much on R value. Lightweight, may help condensation, wire channel are three reasons my pea brain came up with.

Worth the effort? Waste of time and material?

I think I'd check the R value of the solid 3/4" ply and then compare it against what you are wanting to build up. Might not be worth the hassle. Unless it's really a huge difference...an extra blanket might make for a lot less work. I've done solid walls on 5 trailers and managed to hide the wiring on all of them without a composite wall. The ceiling needs the insulation in my opinion. Others opinion may vary. Doug

+1... ................................................................................ 8)

p.s another thought just struck(owwwww)...check that the insul and ply are actually the same thickness or problems during glue up may well ensue...........................mj

+2 Might slightly help with sound if you have voids caused by the cut-outs.

Wish I could disagree....
but, the thought kept bouncing around and around... :?

It would help make an inexpensive first trailer and put a lot of techniques into play.
Helmsman inside, epoxy outside, alumeeum roof, glue up, stapling.. all more affordable with 3 sheets of Luan per side. Without the insulation; a 3/4" wall could be had for $10-25 cheaper than off the shelf, big box stuff; depending on species and location.

This along with other questions I've posted will wind up linked into my build thread...saw dust to begin in March !
