In search of a teardrop that needs love!

Postby jessandmatt » Sat Feb 19, 2011 11:43 pm

Hi all!

My husband and I recently fell in love with teardrop trailers and would love to have one to call our own by this summer.

Ideally, we would love an older teardrop that needs some work so we can customize it. We are located in South Dakota, but would be willing to travel for the right deal!

Please e-mail us if you have anything we might be interested in!

[email protected]

Thanks so much!

We've been lurking for about a week! :)

Everyone here seems super friendly.

We especially stalk the for sale forum, so hopefully we'll find our camper soon!

Welcome aboard...you might also try this site.

http://www.teardrops.net/classads01.html

There are quite a number of originals around to be had. Another option might be to either build your own, as many of us do or contract with someone like ProHandyman who builds a nice tear at a great price. That way you get something you fit in, and has a lot of the newer accessories, and is road worthy from the get go. Just an idea.

What you need to watch for is someone with an original, that needs a total rebuild as it's trashed or rotted. If you are willing to do all the work, fine. At that point, you are basically getting a frame, some patterns and a title. That may or may not be what you really want..sorta depends on your abilities and desires. Arm yourself with as much info as you can, and don't get emotionally involved with something. There will be another down the road. Just my opinion. Doug

Where about in South Dakota, I live in southeast South Dakota. I have thought about selling #1 but must finish #2 before I make a final decision.
If I could shut my brain off, I could save myself alot of time, money and effort.
