How tall would you make a standie? please help!

So today I made a mock up of the planned height of my new standie. You can check out my build at Tub Toys gone fishin'

Here's a picture of the mock up:



And here's an explanation of what your looking at; the Tundra is 72" tall off the ground the top of the plywood is 103" off the ground. This gives me a 6' 8" interior height. If you look closely at the plywood you'll see a black arched line on the top right which represents the front arched roof line. The bottom of this arch is at 77". You'll also notice a black line towards the bottom of the sheet which represents the bottom side of the trailer.

So here's the issue, should I lower the height and sacrifice head room, if so how much? Please vote and tell me your thoughts.

I guess it all depends on your height , do you wear a hat if so how tall is it , will there be any sort of ceiling fixtures how low will they hang , boots heals ...... ect ect add them all up and see what you got and see its comfortable for you cause that would be the ideal height IMHO thats my 2¢

Remember that inside height is not the same as outside. Also if you want it to go in the garage! Six and a half feet inside sounds good if you keep fixtures on the wall or recessed for a finished height. Course I am short!

Have you considered a dropped floor. That will allow you to lower the height...

Standie=stand up in. How tall are you? Pretty simple , really.

Generally, garages are 84" at garage door. Measure yours!
If you want to keep in garage, you must have total height less than 84".
You will also need to have a drop floor (unless you are less than 64" in height).
You have to consider the following measurements:
Bottom of drop floor to ground: 8"
Height of drop floor frame + floor thickness: 2 - 1/2"
roof skin thickness + ceiling thickness + roof spar thickness: 2"
clearance: 1/2"
Inside height at drop floor: 71"
Total: 84"
If your planned measurements vary from above, you will have to adjust accordingly. The drop floor height will depend upon the height to frame, suspension height, size of wheel/tire.
If, you will not garage trailer, drop floor is not necessary.
Make the trailer any height that you want.

I can offer a point of reference..

I'm 5'9" and find a 6'4" interior height comfortable in both my commercial trailer and the one we're building. Both of those have "stuff" (a/c interior controls, lights, smoke detector, etc) sticking down from the ceiling in spots as much as 2", making the interior an effective 6'2". I find that clearance to be quite comfortable. I never hit my head, never feel like I'm going to, and dont need to walk around stooped over.

My brother is just a tad taller than me (5'10, 5'11) and he is OK with that height as well... a person any taller would probably be a bit uncomfortable.
