Old Sear lantern

Got this old Sears lantern yesterday. I have not been able to find out much info on it. It's a Sears model 7426. I also believe it was made by AGM. The condition seems real good with the exception of the Mica globe. Does anyone have any info on this lantern. Should it have had a decal on it. Can I get a mica globe somewhere? Any help would be appreciated.

Steve....check the sticky links above. Fred Kuntz makes mica shade re-pops. I've got one...really nice shades. Cool lantern. Doug

That look like a Coleman 243 lantern circa 1946 or so. You can get a replacement for it from Fred Kuntz I believe.

If you don't mind, I can post you picture on the Coleman forum to see if I can get more info.

It's an AGM built for Sears 710.7426 based on the AGM 3006.

It goes on to suggest that these lanterns may be copies of the Coleman 243 so Jeremy's guess is right on the mark.

Thanks guys for your help. I will get in touch with Fred when I get this cleaned up. I'm still learning how to get these rebuilt . I just put a 200A back together that will not light. So till I get better at this I don't want to screw up a more rare lantern. This one is different looking and I really like it. The flea market just reopened for the first time Saturday and I was pumped to go hunting at it. This was sitting on the back of a truck but the dealer was not there. Walked a couple of buildings and went back. He wanted more then I thought it was worth. Mostly because I did not know what it was. I finished the rest of the flea market and was ready to leave empty handed. But it kept gnawing at me so I checked Ebay from my phone and could not find any like it. Also all the Sears lanterns seemed to be blue and black. With the vent being porcelain I knew the green was not painted so I took a shot. It was still sitting where I first saw it. The dealer had just picked it up at a gun auction the day before. There were a few old Colemans he said went for big bucks. We haggled a while but I could only get him down 3 bucks from his asking price. He thought it was rare and maybe he was right. I told him if it was I would give him back the 3 bucks next month. I guess I own him huh.

One the thing with AGM you need to check carefully is for stress cracks in the fount.

I would put a little pressure in it and dunk it under water, look for leaks.
