Looking great! I put over 1200 miles on mine in "just campable" mode with a ratchet strap holding down the rear hatch. At ITG, we didn't even have a second door yet, and no galley at all. We had just as much fun :)

Hi Tom, it's so exciting to see your TD getting close to finish. As they say, the devils in the details and boy are you doing it right. It's amazing what one can accomplish when faced with a deadline; you never know. By the way, I'm still impressed that you have the protective blue still doing its job...

All the best,

Dave

 Believe me, I'm trying to get the Silver Beatle ready to camp. That's been my motto for the last few weeks.

I've been so busy that I forgot to take some pictures of my progress in the last five days. The hatch seals are in place. So are the hatch draw latches. Door locksets are installed. I'm still deciding on what type of door seals to use.

I drilled a perfectly good trailer tongue for bolts for the safety chains.

Image

Image

On either side of the bolt holes, I have 1/4" thick square washers to keep the Grade 8 bolts from pulling through. The chains haven't been cut to length or installed yet, because when I went to hook up the teardrop to my new tow vehicle, I realized that my ball mounts are 1-1/4" and my new hitch is 2".

Next up is window installation. I predrilled the holes.

Image

Butyl tape was added to the flanges of the window and then it was fastened with stainless steel screws. The window was drilled for holes along the sides, but after looking at it, I thought it might look better with fasteners along the top and the bottom flanges too. So I added the added additional fasteners.

Image

One window down; one more to go.

Beavers Bend - I have you in my sight. Take care and gig'em,
Tom

I'm so proud of you Tom...some of the blue film is gone!!! ;) Nobody is going to believe that the Silver Beatle is home built! :o You'll have to have a photo album on hand for proof and to inspire!!! :applause:

I'm betting she'll be ready, just like Scotty...you're a miracle worker.

Tom - that Butyl tape will flow out for a few days until it finally sets - My windows did the same thing. I waited about a week and trimmed off the what squeezed out with a sharp blade.
